A match-3 trip through history

Time Crush is a free match-3 puzzle game that runs in your browser. You start in the Stone Age with a campfire and a very proud Chief, and you match your way to the stars.

Every age has its own place, its own items and its own Troublemaker. Win levels, earn stars and build each age's landmarks, from a mammoth-bone hut to a ring station in space.

How to play

  1. Swap two neighbours to make a row of 3 or more of the same item.
  2. Look at the Target at the top. Clear what it asks for before your moves run out.
  3. Match 4 or 5 to make specials. Tap a special, or swap it, to set it off.
  4. Swap two specials together for a giant combo.
  5. Leftover moves turn into specials when you win, for bonus coins.
  6. Spend your stars on Build to raise the landmarks of each age.

Ten levels per age, 160 in all. The last level of each age has a Troublemaker who throws things at your board.

Specials: the fun part

SpearSpearMatch 4 in a line. It flies across a whole row or column.
PterodactylPterodactylMatch a square of 4. It clears a cross, then flies to a target.

Swap two specials into each other for an even bigger combo.

Troublemakers become Helpers

Beat an age's Troublemaker and it joins your team as a Helper. Take one Helper into a level and it charges up as you match, then uses its own power on the board. Pull more Helpers from the Time Portal and level them up.

Free on any device, even offline

Time Crush works on phones, tablets and computers, in any modern browser. There is nothing to install. After your first visit it plays with no connection too, on a plane or with no data, and your progress saves when you are back online.

On a phone, use Add to Home Screen for a Time Crush icon that opens like an app.

Questions and answers

Is Time Crush free?

Yes. Every level can be played and won for free. Coins, stars and lives are all earned by playing.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Time Crush runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Open the page and tap Play.

How many levels are there?

There are 160 levels, ten in each of the 16 ages, plus Time Storm levels that bring beaten ages back harder.

How do I make specials?

Match four in a line for a Spear, a square of four for a Pterodactyl, an L or T shape for a Lava Bomb and five in a line for a Sun Stone.

What are Troublemakers and Helpers?

Every age ends with a Troublemaker who throws things at your board. Beat one and it joins your team as a Helper with its own power.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. Your levels, stars and coins are saved on our server, so you can close the page and carry on later.

Can I play offline?

Yes. After your first visit, the whole game opens and plays with no connection. Your progress saves as soon as you are back online.

Is there a daily reward?

Yes. A Daily Gift waits every day, and day 7 brings a Helper. Missed days just wait for you. There are daily quests too.
